Rolled Oats: Food for Champions

Everybody wants a chunk of our money. Some of the most advertised health foods come from another country. Maca is one that you can buy in powder form. It only cost around 40 dollars for a pound but it is great for smoothies. It will turn impotent men into sexual dynamos. At least that is what is promoted.

I have a theory that health peddlers go to different countries and promote another country's products in order to sell it at a huge profit. We don't complain for the huge prices due to the fact that you can't grow it in your own backyard. For instance, maca only grows in cold climates and high altitudes like Peru. Peddlers have made a lot of money on maca products.

Take a look at these happy people and their cash crop.

http://www.nutracrunch.com/heritage.htm

Thank God for rich foreigners that buy (Peruvian) products and help keep those farmers in Peru alive. What is money if you can not share it with others? Right?

I could almost sell you anything with a value report on my product, beautiful packaging, and alluring photos.

You can make even more money on your product by placing it in capsules and medicinal bottles. Don't you want to become healthy and have sexual vitality?

Now here comes Larry Zoro to spoil it all: LOOK FOR CHEAP PRODUCTS THAT ARE HEALTHY AND DO NOT BE TAKEN IN BY THE HEALTH FOOD SCAMMERS.

Here is a sample of my scamming product for oats:

I know it is a tremendously high price for oats. Oats are usually cheap. However, I believe they will be going up in price. Oats are not at this time a cash crop but perhaps someday farmers will make huge profits in growing it.

Oranges used to be cheap. But what I have seen years ago is that they would rather charge huge prices for orange products than give us a deal. I remember an old report by "Sixty Minutes" showing heaps of oranges in California being thrown away in order to inflate prices. Now that the orange industry is more manageable they have been hit by bad weather and diseases that will cause the prices to go up even higher.

"The US government expects this season’s yield of Florida oranges to be down 17 per cent on last year, at 135million boxes, because cold weather and ‘spotty’ rainfall have meant smaller oranges and fewer fruit per tree. The state’s orange groves have also been ravaged by the deadly, incurable ‘greening disease’, which originated in Asia and forces farmers to uproot trees.Millions of dollars have been spent on aerial pesticide spraying in an attempt to reduce the population of the insect that spreads the disease – the citrus psyllid."

Sometimes you reap what you sow when you try to cheat the public--Larry Zoro

Let's get back to oats:

"Nevertheless, demand for oats has been falling for nearly a century, ever since mechanized equipment started taking over for horses on farms and roads. In fact, global acreage devoted to oats has fallen by 58 percent just in the past decade, according to General Mills. That’s in part because oats aren’t a particularly efficient or profitable crop. It takes more seed to produce an acre of oats than it does to produce an acre of other major crops, like corn. According to the USDA’s Economic Research Service, the average revenue per acre of corn in 2012 was $1,073. For soybeans, it was $596. For oats, it was a mere $245."

When the demand for oats increase, it too will be an expensive health food worthy of high prices like maca and its special advertising campaign.

Enjoy your oats while you can without having a need in buying expensive foreign health foods. Appreciate their low prices before you see an ad like the one I shown you pasted in this blog. If only I had a sexy model to promote my oats, I might have had a sale or two.

October 25th

Yesterday there was a beautiful evening.

I am preparing the week with making wheat/rye grass juice. I also threw in a few dandelions and Greek oregano.  I only drink juice once a day. Two cubes of green and one of watermelon rind with a 1/4 leaf of tobacco.

I perfected my evening smoothie: I use 1/2 milk- chocolate cocoa mix, peanut PBfitpowder, banana, hand full of spinach, quarter of tobacco leaf, and a little kale. It was great. It energized me. I stayed up till 3 am in the morning.

Tonight is work at my all night job. I be taking a bowl of meat in cooked rolled barely with a little cheese. It will be smothered in hot sauce. For my first break I will eat some plain yogurt that I have added a dash of brown sugar and fresh apple chunks. I also bring my orange juice with blended tobacco leaf (1/3 leaf).

I was reading about the toxicity of buckwheat greens. I found this great saying, "The Latin expression dosis sola facet venenum (the dose makes the poison) attributed to the ancient Romans could be applied here. A small quantity of buckwheat greens (or buckwheat lettuce as it is often called) in an individual diet could allow for healthy nutritional benefits without the negative effects of large amounts."

I found the same thing by using green tobacco leaf, the dose makes the poison.  If a person takes too much tobacco leaf, they can become nauseous, get chills with tiredness. The thing I have been learning is that too much of anything could be bad. A person could overdose on vitamins or water. In large quantities anything can become toxic.

This is the first time I have grown lettuce in a bucket. I can't wait for a fresh salad. I should now try spinach and perhaps kale.

I now have my onions outdoors. They look mighty fine.

Happy Halloween from my house to yours. Try not to overdo on the sweets. Remember the sales after Halloween. It is time to look for store specials.

Today's Gardening

My Goji vines are looking great. They love buckets.

Cilantro grows well in small containers.

Lettuce is starting to take off.

Green onion starts look mighty fine.

They're ugly but they're mine.

My daughter likes to carve my pumpkins.

Taco Mania

I love tacos. They are easy to make.

I found some hot peppers in my freezer that I had prepared last year by cooking them and freezing them in ice cube trays.

I added two pepper cubes to my ground beef.

I also added some taco seasoning and chili powder.

I remembered I had some mung bean sprouts and added them to my mixture of beef and peppers. Add your mung bean sprouts after you had cooked the beef. You do not need to overcook the spouts.

I heated my taco shells in my pizza cooker. Notice the empty can.

As you can see I used a lot of mung beans. Mung beans do not have much taste. They will not spoil your meat mixture.

This was my fast way of cooking tacos. I can't live without them. They are so good.

Starting Onions in Buckets

I tried growing green onions in a bucket. I planted the seed but they never came up. The soil kept drying out which prevented germination.

Here is my solution:

Start your onion seeds on a paper towel in a ziplock bag.

I had previously saved some of my onion blossoms for seeds. The seeds were easy to remove.

In only a few days you will have many sprouts.

I already had a nice prepared bucket with soil that made it an easy job when planting my sprouts.

I then made some depressions with a small plastic spoon. I moistened the small depressions with a spray bottle before adding onion sprouts to the depressions.

After placing the sprouts in the depressions, I then sprayed more water from my bottle until the sprouts were successfully covered with soil. I finished by adding Saran Wrap on top of the bucket. I held the wrap down with masking tape on all sides of the bucket. I folded one end of the tape for easy removal.

I set my bucket in a sunny place for quick growth.

It was an easy job which I enjoyed doing.

Junk Food Moderation

I don't always eat healthy. Sometimes I eat junk food when I'm in town. Moderation is the key. Don't overdo it.

I ate at Arbys the other day. They have a special during 2pm to 5pm. Shakes are only $1.00--Sliders, fries and small drinks are also only a buck.

If you have a hunger for junk foods, get in on the specials.

The Three Basic Pillars of Extraordinary Health

Those in the work force know the importance of health. In many jobs more than two days leave for absence due to illness  is not tolerated. This forces the sick employee to quit or work while being sick. In order to be productive and healthy we must build pillars in life that will support extraordinary health.

PILLAR ONE: DIET

There is a need to practice sanitation at all time. Be careful with what you handle, and by all means use sanitizer. Vaccination are used by many to ward off last year's flu bug (never the present year's flu virus) however, they have limited benefits and many still get sick after taking the shot.  The pillar that is most important is DIET. This may include juicing, making smoothies, and abstaining from bad food like white flour products, soda, and sugary treats and deserts.

Having an herb garden and also growing grasses for juicing will help ward off any infectious germ or virus.

Greek Oregano is a must for any juicing:

"What the ancients did is one thing, but the utility oregano offers today is what is critical. People living in modern civilizations are extensively victimized by infectious disease. Medicine offer little if any hope of curing these infections. Everyone is at risk for attack. This vulnerability is a consequence of the extremely potent and widespread germs which are a creation of modern life. It is the result of drug-resistant germs, viral epidemics, parasites/bacteria in the water, bizarre pathogenic yeasts and fungi, the intake of immunosuppressive drugs, hospital supergerms, excessive antibiotic intake, and genetically engineered mutants.  It is also the result of the fact that our immune systems are weakened from poor nutrition, stress, and/or drugs. In other words, the risks are higher than ever before in today's civilization, because the individual might be healthy-never sick a day in his/her life-and still succumb to a bizarre infection.

This is where wild oregano, the 'hyssop of the Law' comes to the rescue. This is the most potent health-inducing herb known."

Studying about herbs and being your own health nutritionist and herbal practitioner is a must for extraordinary health.

Herbs are fascinating. I read two cancer success stories in Prevention magazine (May 2001) that all mentioned herbs as part of their healing regimen.

"I definitely don't think it's the herbs alone," He says. "I personally feel that the dietary changes I've made---a lower-fat diet with lots of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains...."

"I still take lots of vitamins---particularly antioxidants. I also use herbs to help boost my immune system and relieve the stress..."

Did you see the article of the lady who regained her health through Turmeric?

http://www.activistpost.com/2012/07/woman-stuns-researchers-by-overcoming.html

http://naturalsociety.com/woman-stuns-researchers-by-overcoming-cancer-with-turmeric-spice/

I don't know if its true or not but I do know herbs are body energizers and protectors for giving abundant health.

PILLAR TWO: EXERCISE

I'm sixty and I exercise almost everyday since I restarted in March. It is crucial to maintain a healthy body. Exercise includes running for cardiovascular health and dumbbells for muscular strength.

VICTORY IN ACTION

To change tomorrow you must change today.

If you cease to move you will prematurely die.  But if you act in a good, healthy, and positive way, you will win the prize of a healthy body and a vigorous mind.

Directors in Hollywood use the terms, "Lights, Camera, Action!"  It signals to everyone on the movie set that it is time to get moving.  First the lights are empowered, next the cameras are turned on, and at last the actors begin their craft.  Consequently, it is the same with health and fitness.  First you are enlightened to what you should do, next you become self aware of your need for personal action, and at last you begin to act.  If action is the key to success then what kind of action are we talking about?
We need action for the heart.  The heart beats about 3 billion times in the average lifetime depending on its condition.  An unconditioned heart will beat faster than an aerobic conditioned heart.  A normal resting heart rate for adult's ranges from 60 to 100 beats a minute, whereas a well-trained athlete has a normal resting heart rate closer to 40 beats a minute.  The benefits of exercise are reducing the risk of heart disease by lowering the cholesterol and the fat levels in the blood and helping the blood vessels keep open and flexible.
We require action for our skeletal system.  Extended periods of physical  inactivity can  lead  to  our loss of bone mass.  Regular aerobic exercise and strength training will increase your bone mass and bone strength.
Our muscular system also commands action. People who are more muscular with a lower amount of body fat have a higher metabolism than others that are less muscular.  Therefore the more muscular you are the faster you'll burn the calories that make the fat.

The evidence is beginning to show that diet and exercise may have the greatest effect on brain health. Through exercising the heart we also get the benefits of a healthy brain.  The increase of blood and oxygen flowing to the brain will directly influence our brain cells health and will possibly ward off Alzheimer and vascular dementia.

PILLAR THREE: REST

You must have at least eight hours of rest a day. If you can do with less, it is probably due to you not exercising. Believe me that when you exercise you need the rest to rebuild your muscles.

Visualize: I do not usually practice visualization. It is mainly a waste of time. I can visualize many things in my head but things usually stay the same until I take action. If you are an expert in visualization, please visualize me receiving a million dollars. When I receive the money, than I'll be a firm believer of visualization.

I use a visualization technique to get back to sleep when I need it. If you are like me, your brain likes to work when you are only partially rested.

Here is my technique for falling a sleep or going back to sleep: Visualize a  "REST SIGN" in the most calming color (mine is blue). It doesn't matter what the sign says. You can use, "DO NOT DISTURB," or "AT REST" or any other saying. It isn't as much as the words as it is the color. Visualize the sign in your mind. Now when your mind wants to worry or solve problems by keeping you awake, you should begin to visualize your color . The key is not to be sidetracked by other thoughts. You are at rest and your visualized sign is your way to block all other thoughts from disturbing you.  The color you choose will represents your time of inactivity. Like a computer, your operating system is shut-down and not available for work. Your pesky thoughts must now come back during your waking hours and leave you alone while your getting your eight hours of sleep.

CONCLUSION

I'm sure there are other pillars that can support extraordinary health but for me these are my main ones. There are exceptions to every rule or rules. Someone might find strength with their spirituality. Which is fine. I do not doubt the power of the omnipotent God. Others might insist on a vegan diet which is also fine. By implementing pillars you will have more added years of life than you would have by doing nothing.

My Thoughts

As you probably know I have been using tobacco. Not smoking but in smoothies. I use about 1/4-1/2 of leaf in a smoothie or in my special tea. I consume about one leaf a day.

I drink juice in the morning. I use two small cubes of my herb and grass blend of juice, one large cube of watermelon. and 1/4 to 1/2 tobacco leaf depending on the size of the leaf. I blend it with juice with my Magic bullet blender.  Tobacco is one of the best sources of B vitamins.

"Vitamin B3, also known as niacin, is the third of eight B vitamins. Niacin is a term that relates to several chemical forms of vitamin B3. These forms include nicotinamide and nicotinic acid. These names are all based on the research done on tobacco in the 1930s in which vitamin B3 was first isolated in a laboratory while working on the nicotine collected from tobacco leaves."

Tobacco is not for the ignorant. It does contain alkaloids or what you call poison. I use it judicially but do not recommend it for the public. I know I am talking about it but those using it do so at their own risk. I consider it a health food. However, I am no health professional with no qualifications to suggest anything.

Sometimes extreme measures must be taking to get extreme health benefits---Larry Zoro

See previous posts for more info and links on tobacco.

I found some bagworms. Instead of using insecticide use your butane or gas torch. Insects hate fire and it kills them very quickly.

We should make sure we harvest our peppers before any cold spells. Try not to be like me and become overwhelmed by last minute harvesting.

Tomatoes can be taking inside to finish ripping. Do not let them die on the vine during a cold spell. Keep checking your weather forecast.

Seasonal Gardening

There is no reason why everyone should not be growing a fall garden. The things we grow in the spring we can also grow in the fall.

This is the first year I tried growing some plants in the fall. You might have to adjust your time table to accommodate certain plants but so far I am impressed.

I started this cabbage plant in late August. It is starting to form a cabbage. I'll have to wait and see if it matures in time before the first frost. If it does not, I will grow it earlier.

Cilantro likes it cool. I'm not transplanting these plants. I'll leave them in their coke bottles.

Lettuce in a bucket can be taken indoors if the weather gets real cold. We have great weather forecasting today and it helps in determining when to bring a portable plant indoors.

I'm starting to harvest radishes. I am going to also try them in growing buckets.

NET PROFIT

USAGE

I have two buckets that I'm growing lettuce. I used the net for insect control. Insects were eating my lettuce before I did. Now that it is getting colder, insect might not be a problem. However, I'm going to use the net until I run out of net by raising it higher for more lettuce growth.

It is a simple process to raise the net higher. Pull the excess net higher above the plant through your tie strings. If the net is loose, the lettuce plant will raise the net as it grows.

WHY USE A BUCKET

Buckets are portable. When I have enough growth I will be taking mine to work with me. I'll leave it in my car until lunch time. At lunch time, I will go out to my car and secretly harvest my salad and then take it back into my lunch break room and fix my salad.

Why secretly harvest? It is strange behavior that might be misconstrued. In reality it is appropriate behavior that is deserving of commendation. Fresh lettuce will provide nutrition beyond that of wilted or old lettuce. It will also taste heavenly.

"What was you doing in your car?"

"I was harvesting my garden."

"Okay, Should I call someone to help you (mental help)?"

"You can help, here hold my radishes and help me bring them into our lunch area."

Obtaining healthy food, might require new innovations---Larry Zoro

Knowledge From This Growing Season

Hay is still the best medium to grow in. Straw bales are way too expensive to be used. Hay bales are weed free due to bale decomposition and high temperatures. Aged Bales are the best bales.

Do not use leaf bales for growing in. They take too long to decompose. Use them for smothering weeds, or in decorating your garden spaces between rows.

We must plant more fall garden plants. Timing is a little different (before the cold sets in) but I think it is worth it.

Grow fresh carrots for your pet. My little Chihuahua loves thin slices of carrot.

When juicing for health do not neglect juicing some edible flowers.

Take more time and enjoy the little critters.

Why waste your time growing in flats. Grow your grass for juice in your empty garden space. Shear it down when it has grown a few inches (up to eight inches) and then save the juice in the form of ice cubes for the winter.

Try some new recipes. My Green Salsa Verde sauce was a success.

Use a net over your bucket lettuce plants for safety from insects. They use nets in hospitals in order to keep young children from jumping out of their cribs. Why not plants? Plants need safety too. Especially when they are young and small.

You can put two pepper plants together and they grow better than one.

If you are going to grow in a bag, put it in a bucket. When growing in buckets never fill the water more that 1/3 of the bucket. Next year I am going to put drainage holes on the outside of my bucket (1/3 way up) so I never overfill it.

Explore the use of different plants. Some plants are vilified for their improper usage.

Use larger drainage holes in buckets. Use hay or dead grass to cover the holes so the soil does not run out when watering.

You do not always have to use wood in making biochar. I like using dried grasses or hay.

Enrich your soil by using dead bugs from your bug zapper.

Don't waste money on always buying seeds. Harvest seeds from the plants that you like and from things that you buy at the market.

Get a tank for your garden to keep away thieves. In a survival situation it might come in handy. (This was my attempt at sick humor.)
