Avocados are an alkalizing food
It seems like having a pH meter has limited use except perhaps gardening.

According to what I understand is that most foods, even if they are acid, has an effect or reaction in the body that makes it acid or alkaline. It is the changes the food makes in the body that really matters.
All kinds of claims have been made for eating foods that give our bodies an alkalizing effect. Let's get some balance.
A great article to read is "The pH Myth."
Here is the link: http://chriskresser.com/the-ph-myth-part-1/ And don't forget part-2 http://chriskresser.com/the-acid-alkaline-myth-part-2/
My findings in the whole matter of pH is that the body is a wonderful biological machine. It can normalize your pH for you. We do not have to become a mad scientist by constantly testing our urine and checking our blood pH. We should eat a well balanced diet that is nutritious. Just like what we were always told, "Eat the four major food groups."
Nutrition from eating supermarket produce is lacking. Nutrition in our foods from our favorite supermarket is not what they used to be. Food is being grown on mineral depleted soils and yet sold at high prices. The main concern some farmers have is in the appearance of the food instead of its nutrition. That is why so many foods are picked green and radiated to keep fresh looking.

Growing a garden is very important. We should grow and eat highly nutritious foods. But before we can get healthy foods, we must have healthy soils. Are you ready for all the sales pitches for enriching your soils.
For Sale: $99.00-Colloidal gardening minerals collected by Larry Zoro from an old glacier in Montana.
Colloidal Minerals is comprised of highly absorbable, water-soluble minerals derived from prehistoric plant deposits in Montana. Each ounce has naturally occurring trace amounts of many major and trace minerals. Zoro's colloidal minerals were created ages ago when they became incorporated into the living plants, fruits and vegetable of that era. These trace elements helped to form the luscious vegetation which contributed to the vibrant life which flourished on this planet.
I am just kidding by this advertisement, but others are not. Get out your pocket book, its time to amend our soils and add more minerals.
