Years ago I made bales out of a big green garbage can with my bale insert. I place the bales I made under my dry flowering cherry tree. The tree was growing in one dry spot that always wanted watering. We should always put mulch under are newly planted trees. It is a lot easier to put mulch than to be watering all the time.
